Hitting a new low when it comes to conspicuous consumption.

Okay – I know that there’s not much about high-end audio that’s eco-friendly, but there are some things in this world that are just wrong!
Amazon get’s plenty of flak for the amount of surplus packaging it wraps round stuff and then transports, but this example puts even their best efforts in the shade. Take a look at the picture: On top is a beautifully packaged and protected, five record box set, supplied by one of Europe’s leading orchestras; underneath is the outer carton in which it arrived!
Leaving my system on isn’t exactly green, but at least there’s a purpose to it. This much packaging? That’s just utterly pointless! It’s also a new low when it comes to the issues around the home delivery services that we all seem to have embraced and now take for granted…
