The little Telefunken CS 20 (or the STS-1) may not be the perfect turntable, but its below bargain price, availability and frankly astonishing performance make it a perfect solution for many different situations. Me – I just enjoy listening to it, while the automatic arm with its ‘Repeat’ facility is just perfect for running cartridges. Best of all – it’s already reached maximum depreciation, meaning that if you don’t like it or no longer need it, you can just sell it on for pretty much what you paid. Let the fun begin…
