Jarrett’s legendary Köln Concert gets 50th Anniversary Re-issue

The Deutsche Grammophon store has just announced availability of a 50th Anniversary re-pressing of Keith Jarrett’s legendary Köln Concert double LP. Although the original was an ECM recording and record (and the re-press is identically branded) it’s not clear whether this is an ECM, a DGG or a Warner Music initiative. There’s certainly no mention of it on the ECM site. There are also no details as to the re-mastering, cutting or pressing. What is certain is that this is a double 180g pressing, in a quality sleeve with a new, eight-page booklet and a signed art print of the artist. Recent DGG pressings of both current and historical material have been excellent, so hopefully this follows suit…
Enduringly popular, fans are unlikely to sweat the details, forking over the €55.00 asking price without demur – unless of course they want to spring an extra 20 for a ‘limited edition’ bundle that includes a T-shirt!
