Such investigations take time and depend on opportunity: opportunity that isn’t likely to arise in an immediate future jammed with loudspeaker reviews that are dominating both of the main systems for the next month. What I can say is that the PhonoARAYs are definitely staying put in both set-ups. I strongly suspect that if you try one it will stay put in your system too. Which is of course, the best thing about a product like this: it really is plug and play. If it does the business then it stays put: if not, it’s thanks but no thanks.
We’ve been working towards better grounding solutions for a while now, but what better place to implement and apply that hard-won knowledge than where signal levels are lowest? Chord’s various Ground and Power ARAYs have been individually impressive – but this is the most impressive so far and by quite a margin. Collectively they move you closer to the music, but it’s the PhonoARAY that offers up the best seat in the house.
