Is there anything I don’t like about the ARC6 DC4. It’s big, it’s black, it’s silent in operation and brings silence to your system. It is utterly featureless and fuss-free. I guess some people will want a prettier box but, given that once connected you’ll never need to touch it again, this one can always be hidden away. So, no: it’s a great product at a great price and in this day and age, that in itself is worthy of celebration.
I was mightily impressed with what the Mini ARC6 DC4 did for the Roon Nucleus. I’ve been bowled over by the full-sized supply driving the Monaco. It takes the turntable’s inherent qualities and both anchors and extends them. If the stock Monaco is good, driving it with the Jacobs supply makes it very special indeed. But what’s really special is that compared to the cost of the ‘table itself, the power supply is pretty small beer, especially considering its musical and sonic impact. Compared to the price of other, high-end turntables, it’s almost laughably cheap – a bit like the Monaco itself. A lot more people should hear the Grand Prix Audio Monaco. A lot more people should hear it with the ARC6 DC4 power supply.
