Rooms to Visit, Products to Hear…

Wilson Benesch – Room Atrium 3.1, C114

Whisper it quietly, but those obsessed with serious analogue replay should beat a path to the door of the Wilson Benesch room. Peer carefully around the door of C114 and you might just see (and hear) the first outing of what is (probably) the most advanced, most innovative and most expensive turntable at the show. First seen in 2019, W-B has used the Covid hiatus to re-think and re-engineer key sub components on their monster GMT record player, raising performance by another notch (or two). Now ready to take its first steps in public and hooked up to a full AudioNet and WB Omnium system, this is one debut that no serious analogue fan should miss. Production units may still be some way off, but a fully operational production prototype should be more than enough to get the acquisitive juices running… How much? In this case the answer really is, “If you have to ask…” as final pricing (and availability) still hasn’t been set.
