They’re not perfect (nothing is) and the ability to fit threaded adaptors so that they can be secured to supported equipment would definitely be a step up. For example, perching the Studio Player on four Auva EQs leaves it free to slide, which it will do over time, while putting a non-slip film between the Auva EQ and the chassis will compromise performance. It just means you need to monitor the situation to maintain peak performance. It’s something that Stack Audio is looking at, but it’s not quite as simple as just drilling and threading a hole. An adaptable solution requires some thought and planning, so it might well arrive – just don’t hold your breath.
The Stack Audio products have always represented great value for money. The Auva EQ continues that trend. The performance is exceptional and the price, as they say, is right. Letting affordable systems boldly go where they’ve rarely trodden before, the Auva feet easily out-punch their modest price, being equally at home in far more expensive and ambitious systems. Don’t be fooled by their affordable nature. Equipment support has always been an area inviting simple, cheap solutions. The Stack Audio Auva EQ is far cleverer and more sophisticated than the bargain basement and DIY options. It’s far more effective too. They may not be the last word in equipment support. They’re not even the last word in Stack’s own product line. But they’re awfully, awfully good. These days it’s refreshing to find something that makes such a musically fundamental and engaging contribution without costing the earth. Highly recommended? I should cocoa.
